Tina Trstenjak (born August 24, 1990 in Celje ) is a Slovenian judoka and Olympic champion in the weight class up to 63 kilograms.

Athletic career

Trstenjak, who has been competing in the weight class up to 63 kg since the beginning of her career, celebrated her first successes at the European Championships . In 2013 she won the bronze medal, in 2014 she reached the final and ended up in second place. At the 2015 European Games in Baku , which also counted as the European Championship, she won silver again. In 2016 she became European champion in Kazan . In 2014 , she won her first bronze medal at world championships , before becoming world champion the following year . Trstenjak's career peaked at the 2016 Olympic Judo Tournament in Rio de Janeiro when she won the gold medal. For this success she was voted Slovenian Sportswoman of the Year at the end of 2016 .

In 2017 she won the title at the European Championships . In the final of the World Championships in Budapest she was defeated by the French Clarisse Agbegnenou . The following year she also lost to the French in the final of the European Championships . She won a bronze medal at the 2018 World Championships .
