Anne Marie Wicher

Anne Marie Wicher , also Annemarie Wicher (born March 22, 1934 in Graz ; † February 27, 2014 there ) was an Austrian politician ( ÖVP ). Wicher was a member of the Styrian Landtag from 1995 to 2009 .

Wicher attended the II. Bundesrealgymnasium for girls from 1945 to 1953 and completed her education with the Matura. She then worked as a travel agent, housewife and disability advisor. Wicher, a paraplegic and wheelchair user, was nominated by Josef Krainer as an independent candidate in 1995 and moved into the state parliament that year. Wicher represented the ÖVP in the state parliament until March 16, 2009 and was a spokesperson for disabled people. Wicher also referred to the topics of social policy, family policy, health, culture, sport and tourism as her priorities in political work.
