Anne Sanders
Anne Sanders (* 1969 in Wuppertal as Alexandra Pilz) is an Austrian writer living in Germany. Several of her novels achieved bestseller status.
Life
Anne Sanders' novels are mainly set in England or Scotland. Her debut was published in 2016 by the Munich-based Blanvalet Verlag and immediately reached the top 20 of the Spiegel bestseller list in the paperback fiction category: "Summer in St. Ives " is set in the former fishing village of the same name in southern England, which in Germany is mainly due to the Rosamunde- Pilcher films for the ZDF became known. Sanders describes herself as a lover of the British Isles. The Cornwall novel "Summer House for Happiness" also reached the Spiegel bestseller list in 2018. In 2019, two parts of a small series came onto the German market under the title "Wild at Heart - Welcome to the Hotel of Hearts". The setting for the family comedy is the fictional tidal island of Port Magdalen, which is modeled on the English St. Michael's Mount .
Before her career as a writer, the author, who grew up in Wuppertal and Munich, worked as a journalist under her real name Alexandra Pilz. She was trained as an editor as a trainee for the Süddeutsche Zeitung , for which she wrote for many years. Her first novel was published under her maiden name in 2013: "Back to Hollyhill" ( Heyne flies publishing house) is a fantasy book for young people and is about a village in Dartmoor , England , that can travel through time. Pilz was a guest at the Leipzig Book Fair with her book , previously several large German publishers had tried to get the manuscript. A trilogy emerged from the Hollyhill material by 2016. The Colorful presented Alexandra mushroom in March 2013 under the headline before: "Four young talents that you should remember."
The author remained true to the genre of young people's books. Alongside Anne Sanders, Lea Coplin became her second open pseudonym. In the publishing dtv came in 2018, the youth drama "Nothing is good. Without you. " It is her first novel to be set in her adopted home Munich. The successor “Nothing to lose. Besides us. ”, A kind of spin-off story with characters from the first dtv book, is set in Scotland.
Anne Sanders is married and lives with her husband in Munich.
