Annea Lockwood

Annea Lockwood (born July 29, 1939 in Christchurch ) is a New Zealand-American composer and music teacher.

Lockwood studied music at the University of Canterbury . After graduating with a bachelor's degree, she continued her education with Peter Racine Fricker at the Royal College of Music in London from 1961 to 1963 . She took part in the Darmstadt summer courses from 1962–63 and studied with Gottfried Michael Koenig from 1963–64 . She then worked in Great Britain and Europe until 1973, then in the USA as a freelance composer and musician. In the US, taught Lockwood first at Hunter College of the City University of New York (CUNY), since 1982 at Vassar College .
