Gottfried Michael Koenig (born October 5, 1926 in Magdeburg ) is a German composer .

Life

After a humanistic grammar school, private music studies ( piano , violin , organ ) and first attempts at composition, I studied music in Braunschweig ( state music school , seminar for church music ), Detmold ( north-west German music academy , composition, piano, analysis, acoustics) and Cologne ( music college , institute for music) -technical design).

From 1954 to 1964 he worked in the studio for electronic music of the NWDR (later WDR ) in Cologne and worked with Karlheinz Stockhausen and many other domestic and foreign composers. From 1964 to 1986 he was artistic director of the studio for electronic music (later "Institute for Sonology") at the University of Utrecht (Netherlands) and gave countless lectures at home and abroad.
