Lower Saxony Music School Braunschweig
Lower Saxony Music School Braunschweig was the name of an institution for the training of musicians and music teachers that existed in Braunschweig until 1979 .
history
The Lower Saxon Music School in Braunschweig was founded in 1938 by the Braunschweig musicologist and National Socialist follower leader Gerhard Bittrich as the Braunschweig State Music School . She devoted herself exclusively to vocational training. Precursors were several private conservatories , including the Plock Conservatory. Until 1945 the training was divided into three branches: orchestra - opera - drama - stage dance ; Seminar for music teachers - seminar for rhythm teachers ; Seminar for organists and choir directors .
Teaching was resumed to a limited extent after the Second World War in 1946. After the city of Braunschweig and the state of Lower Saxony could not agree on the financing of the Lower Saxony Music School after decades of dispute, it was closed in 1979 despite public protests.
