Gretel Hartung

Gretel Hartung (* 1923 in Oesede ; † June 21, 1990 in Munich ) was a German opera and operetta singer with a soprano voice .

Live and act

Hartung completed her vocal training at the Braunschweig State Music School .

In 1947 she made her debut as Julia in the operetta Der Vetter from Dingsda at the Theater im Bachlenz in Heidelberg . Subsequently she was at the City Theater of Heidelberg (1948–1949), at the City Theater of Ulm (1949–1950), at the State Theater of Detmold (1950–1953), at the City Theater of Bremen (1953–1956) and at the Opera House of Nuremberg (1956– 1962) engaged.

As early as 1960, the artist was committed to the Theater am Gärtnerplatz in Munich, to which she had belonged for 30 years. There she sang alongside Elisabeth Biebl , Christine Görner , Liselotte Ebnet , Eva-Maria Görgen , Hedi Klug , Hella Puhlmann , Harry Friedauer , Ferry Gruber and John van Kesteren .

Hartung made guest appearances at the Stuttgart State Opera and at the Opéra du Rhin Strasbourg (1961). Furthermore, she was connected for many years through a guest contract with the Deutsche Oper am Rhein Düsseldorf-Duisburg. In 1989, the soprano took her leave of the stage in her musical home, the Gärtnerplatztheater. In addition to her stage presence, Hartung was a popular song and concert singer.
