Eva-Maria Görgen (also: Goergen ; born November 26, 1929 in Düsseldorf ; † November 1998 in Munich ) was a German opera, operetta and musical singer with a mezzo-soprano voice .

Live and act

After her vocal training she went to the city ​​theater of Krefeld . Engagements at the music stages of Wiesbaden, Frankfurt and Mannheim followed. In 1958 the artist became a member of the ensemble at the Staatstheater am Gärtnerplatz , to which she belonged for 35 years. There she shone in many operas, operettas and some musicals. Görgen sang a. a. the Ramiro in La finta giardiniera , the Nicklausse in Hoffmann's stories , the title role in Mignon , the Queen in Schwanda, the bagpiper , the Czipra in Der Gypsy Baron and the Palmatica in Der Bettelstudent . Her role as the crispy witch in Hansel and Gretel is unforgettable . The opera was staged for ZDF in 1970 .

In addition to her stage presence, Görgen was still active as a lieder and concert singer. The artist , who was appointed Bavarian Chamber Singer , also gave private singing lessons and appeared in several TV films.

Görgen died in 1998 as a result of a traffic accident. She was buried in the Solln forest cemetery (grave site no. 8-2-30a).
