Harry Friedauer

Harry Friedauer (born July 7, 1927 in Karlsruhe , † October 14, 1985 in Marzling , Freising district ) was a German actor and operetta singer ( tenor and tenor buffo ).

Life

Harry Friedauer was drafted at the end of the Second World War and seriously wounded. After training as an actor and singer, he got his first engagement at the Badisches Staatstheater Karlsruhe . In the early 1950s he came to the State Theater on Gärtnerplatz . There he quickly became a particular favorite of the public, not only because of his spirited stage performances, but also because of his dance and acrobatic performances. The singer was brilliant a. in the following games: Gustl The Land of Smiles , Richard Black Forest Girl , Luigi Gasparone , Prince Orlofsky Die Fledermaus , Iwan Der Tsarewitsch , Armand Der Graf von Luxemburg , Merkur Orpheus in der Unterwelt or Adam Der Vogelhandler . He was a permanent member of the Haus am Gärtnerplatz for 35 years.

Harry Friedauer, who was appointed chamber actor in the 1960s , sang alongside Sari Barabas , Rosl Schwaiger , Christine Görner , Elisabeth Biebl , Erika Köth , Hertha Töpper , Topsy Küppers , Renate Holm , Anneliese Rothenberger , Liselotte Ebnet , Otto Storr , Ferry Gruber etc.

He has appeared on several German-speaking stages (at home and abroad) a. a. 1959 at the Mörbisch Sea Festival (as Zsupan in Countess Mariza ) . Harry Friedauer took part in several films and recorded a considerable number of operetta cross-sections and melodies. He also had many radio and TV appearances a. a. with Dalli Dalli (1972), Zum Blauen Bock (1972) or Robert Stolz on his 90th birthday (1970).

The artist was married twice and had two daughters. He died of the aftermath of a car accident that he suffered while walking. He found his final resting place in Munich's north cemetery.
