The Frontgockel is a German military swank from 1955 by Ferdinand Dörfler with Peter Pasetti and Nadja Regin in the main roles and the actors Günther Lüders , Beppo Brem and Harald Juhnke in supporting roles. The story is based on the play of the same name by Hans Fitz , who also co-wrote the script.

action

Second world war . The Wehrmacht occupied France in 1940 and a quiet time began for the German occupation soldiers , which for some of them seemed like a stay in the land of milk and honey. The handsome air force officer Oberleutnant von Flitsch firmly believes that his animal mascot will keep him away from all hardships. It is a proud rooster named Casimir. Flitsch's somewhat idiotic lad should take care of the good poultry, when a mishap happens: Casimir is plucked and ends up roasted in the stomachs of Bavarian corporal Xaver Wurzlechner and Berlin sergeant Fritz Schäffler.

In order not to put his superiors in a rage, von Flitsch's boy now begins desperately looking for a replacement rooster, which he can impute to his boss as a fake Kasimir without the aviator getting wind of it. In fact, the Air Force officer did not notice the dizziness and, as always, took to the skies with his machine and the exchanged front rooster on board. But Flitsch's previously guaranteed luck is now averted, and his machine promptly catches fire during a flight. At the last moment the pilot manages to jump off with a parachute with the wrong Kasimir in his arms. Again secure ground under his feet, von Flitsch chases the fake Kasimir to the devil, on the grounds that "unsuitable for the Wehrmacht".

criticism

At Filmdienst it says: "A film that disqualifies itself not only through flat, vulgar comedy, but also through its trivialization of the Nazi war."
