The 6th IPC Athletics World Championships ( English World Para Athletics Championships , French Championnats du monde d'athlétisme handisport ) were from 19 to 28 July 2013 in the Stade du Rhône in the Parc de Parilly the French town of Venissieux in the metropolitan area of Lyon held .
In the run-up to the event, 100 nations with 1236 athletes, supported by 666 people in the accompanying staff, expressed their interest, of which almost 1,100 athletes from 93 countries took part. It was the largest world championships for handicapped people to date.
