Will Höhne

Will Höhne (born February 24, 1909 in Münnerstadt as Wilhelm Höhne ; † February 9, 1993 in Munich ) was a German pop singer of the late 1940s and 1950s .

Live and act

After graduating from high school, Höhne first completed a commercial training in the chemical industry . He also took singing lessons before taking an acting exam in Munich. Through a recital for the winter relief organization , he received a scholarship from the National Socialist People's Welfare , which enabled him to study. He played various small roles and danced in ballet. He was then as operatic bass in Rudolstadt and Klagenfurt committed before 1940 by Willi Schaeffer in the cabaret comedian was brought, where he also songs by Hermann Lons recited. In 1941 he had to go to the front to look after the troops.

Soon after the end of the war he worked again in the comedian cabaret, but also sang for the various radio companies and also recorded records, e. B. his detective couplet "Die Leiche", in which he accompanied himself on the guitar, or " Theodor in the football goal " with accompaniment by the Hamburg Radio Dance Orchestra under Franz Thon . In 1949 he played the title role in the musical sailor comedy "Käpt'n Bay Bay" in the Hamburg Theater am Besenbinderhof , where he also played titles such as "Take us with you, Captain, on a journey" by Norbert Schultze (music) and Fritz Grasshoff (text) presented.

With the recording of Das Wirtshaus an der Lahn he fell out of favor with the public broadcasters , as the text with ambiguous allusions to " Frau Wirtin " seemed too daring to those responsible for the prudish post-war period. Not only the stumbling block, but all of his hits were banned from the radio program. On the disk label the note appeared "Only for stag parties!"

The entertainer Götz Alsmann called him a "master of the subject of humorous to ambiguous hits". Höhne later worked in the hospitality industry.
