Manfred RW Garzmann

Manfred Richard Walter Garzmann (born February 28, 1941 in Braunschweig ) is a German historian and archivist who was director of the Braunschweig City Archives from 1981 to 2001.

Life

Manfred Garzmann attended the grammar school Neue Oberschule in Braunschweig. He studied at the Christian-Albrechts-Universität zu Kiel , where he received his doctorate in 1975 with the writing Stadtherr und Gemeinde in Braunschweig in the 13th and 14th centuries .

Together with his wife, he set up the Maximilian Garzmann Foundation, which was recognized in 2010, to “support needy students at the Wilhelm Gymnasium in Braunschweig”.
