Annegret Bollée (born March 4, 1937 in Berlin ) is a German Romanist .

life and work

Annegret Alsdorf (later: Alsdorf-Bollée, then: Bollée), daughter of the Indologist Ludwig Alsdorf , studied (with interruptions) Romance and English from 1955 to 1969 in Hamburg , Aix-en-Provence and Bonn . In 1969 she received her doctorate in Bonn with the dissertation The Latin Verbal Abstracts of the u-Declination and their transformations in Romansh (Bonn 1969). From 1969 to 1978 she was an assistant, first in Bonn, then at the University of Cologne . There she completed her habilitation in 1976 with a work on Creole in the Indian Ocean (published in two books: Le créole français des Seychelles. Esquisse d'une grammaire - textes - vocabulaire . Niemeyer, Tübingen 1977, and: On the origin of the French Creole dialects in Indian Ocean. Creolization without pidginization. Droz, Geneva 1977). From 1978 to 2002 she held the chair for Romance Linguistics and Medieval Studies at the Otto Friedrich University in Bamberg (1980–1983 also Vice President for Studies and Teaching, 1988–1990 also dean of the Faculty of Linguistics and Literature). She conceived the language and media technology center of the university and directed it from 2000 to 2002. From 1989 to 1992 she was a member of the Senate of the German Research Foundation (DFG). Because of her commitment to science beyond her retirement, she was honored as Emerita of Excellence by the University of Bamberg in 2014.

Annegret Bollée is considered to be the pioneer of German-speaking Creole studies . In 1981 she founded the monographic series Kreolische Bibliothek (Hamburg: Buske). Her Opus Magnum, completed in 2007, is the four-volume etymological dictionary of the creole languages ​​of the Indian Ocean.
