Annegret Kober (born June 4, 1957 in Siegen ) is a former German swimmer .

The 1.80 meter high Kober started for the swimming association Neptun Siegerland . There, under coach Gerhard Rademacher , she celebrated her greatest career success to date by winning the German championship over the 200-meter back course in 1972. She then took part in the 1972 Summer Olympics in Munich . There they launched both in the 4 × 100-meter layers relay team and in the 100-meter and 200-meter backstroke competition. While she was only used in the first round of the relay that later won the bronze medal and her participation over 100 meters back ended with elimination in the semifinals, Kober made it to the final on the 200-meter back course. In the pre-Olympic training camp in Heidelberg , according to the trainer, she had unofficially broken the German record she had set five or six times. In the final, she then swam a European record in a time of 2: 23.35 minutes and took fourth place. A few months after the Olympic Games, Kober, who still lives in her hometown today (as of 2013), surprisingly ended her career.
