Anneliese Budach

Anneliese Budach (born June 18, 1922 in Boyen ; † September 11, 1980 ) was a German librarian .

Life

Budach studied history, German and English and completed her state examination in 1944. After the war, she completed the library traineeship at the Public Scientific Library in Berlin from 1949 to 1951. From 1951 she was a scientific librarian, from 1956 department director as head of the information department. In 1957 she went to the Deutsche Bücherei in Frankfurt am Main as a research assistant , where she initially worked in the official publications department and then headed the general and special bibliographies department. Her main concern was alphabetical cataloging, in this area she also played a leading role in supra-regional committees and was significantly involved in the development of the rules for alphabetical cataloging (RAK). By 1969 she was promoted to library director.
