Annemarie Nikolaus

Annemarie Nikolaus (born December 11, 1952 in Usingen , Hessen) is a German social scientist and author who was also active in local politics, especially in the 1980s. She was co-editor of the commune . Since 2000 she has also been active in literature.

Life

Annemarie Nikolaus was born into a working-class family and grew up in Frankfurt / Main . In 1971 she finished her schooling with the Abitur at the Rudolf Koch School in Offenbach / Main . She then studied psychology: from 1971 to 1973 at the Justus Liebig University in Gießen and from 1973 to 1976 at Faculty 11 of the Free University of Berlin , where she graduated with a diploma. From 1982 she studied journalism, history and politics at the Free University of Berlin for several semesters.

From 1976 to 1996 she worked as a psychotherapist in a Berlin practice. During this time, she also worked as a lecturer at adult education centers and institutions for professional training for several years.

During her journalism studies, she wrote briefly as a freelancer for the women's page of the Berliner Tagesspiegel .

In 1996 she moved to northern Italy, where her daughter Lisa Caterina was born in 1997. In 1996 she worked for the provincial government of Trentino in northern Italy as a consultant on issues relating to the remediation of contaminated sites.

From the birth of her daughter, she mainly worked as a freelance editor and translator and began to deal with fiction writing. At the end of 2002 she founded the writing group .

She is a member of the authors' groups "Schreibwerk" and "GIAM". As an Italy columnist, she wrote regularly for the commune. and published articles in the akp - magazine for alternative local politics .

Since 2010 she has lived with her daughter in the Auvergne in France.

During her psychology studies in Berlin, she joined the student organization of the KBW, the KHG; after graduation, she joined the academy organization GUV. She was later accepted into the KBW and elected to the Central Committee.

She was co-editor of the commune , which two years before the dissolution of the KBW replaced its central organ, the Communist People's Newspaper, and the theoretical magazine, Communism and Class Struggle .

From the end of the seventies she became involved in the tenant movement in Berlin against the introduction of the “White Circle” - the release of old building rents - and the redevelopment policy of the Berlin Senate. She was chairman of the “Tenant Initiative Redevelopment Area Klausenerplatz” in Berlin-Charlottenburg and published the district newspaper “Neues aus dem Kiez”. Because of her role in the district, she was invited by the AL in 1981 to run for the Berlin-Charlottenburg district council on its list. She later became a member of the AL.

In 1981 and again in 1989 she was elected to the district assembly of Charlottenburg . Her focus was on building and environmental policy and the health sector. At the beginning of the eighties she initiated the exchange on questions of psychiatric care between the Berlin district of Charlottenburg and its Italian twin city Trento .
