Annemarie Pawlik (born June 1, 1938 in Wolfsberg ; † May 9, 2019 in Klagenfurt am Wörthersee ) was an Austrian politician ( SPÖ ). In 1990 she was a member of the National Council .

biography

After completing compulsory schooling in Wolfsberg, Pawlik completed a commercial apprenticeship and worked from 1956 to 1960 as a shop assistant. During her apprenticeship, she began to get involved in the union of private employees and the social democratic party. There she met her husband Hans Pawlik , a former state politician and ÖGB trade union official. She had been married to him since 1960 and was the mother of two children.

Political career

From 1979 to 1990 she was a member of the Klagenfurt municipal council . In 1990 she was a member of the National Council ( XVII legislative period ). She held the office of (executive) city councilor of the state capital Klagenfurt for housing, social affairs and the family from 1991 to 1997. During this time, Pawlik was also the deputy district chairwoman of the SPÖ Klagenfurt-Stadt. Subsequently, from 1997 to 2004, Annemarie Pawlik led the "Carinthian Pensioners Association" (40,000 members) on a voluntary basis as state chairwoman. In addition, she was a long-time member of the board of the "Volkshilfe Klagenfurt" and a member of the supervisory board of the cooperative "OKAY Team".

Honors

In 2004, in recognition of her special services to the Province of Carinthia, she received the medal “ Great Golden Decoration of Honor of the State ” from the Carinthian provincial government . Annemarie Pawlik was also the bearer of the Rochdale Medal of the Austrian Consumer Association and, since November 15, 2013, the bearer of the highest award that the SPÖ has to award, the Viktor Adler plaque .
