Ella Zipser

Ella Zipser (born May 29, 1926 in Oberwart as Eleonore Freislinger ; † June 11, 2012 ) was an Austrian politician ( SPÖ ). From 1983 to 1988 she was a member of the National Council .

Life

Ella Zipser attended grammar school Oberschützen after elementary school and graduated from high school in 1944. She then graduated from the Conservatory in Graz between 1946 and 1949. Between 1947 and 1954 she worked as a music teacher at the Oberwart Music School and then worked as a housewife. Zipser began her political career between 1962 and 1967 as a councilor in Eisenstadt, after which she was city councilor for culture from 1967 to 1977. After she had been a member of the Burgenland Landtag from January 27, 1975 to May 31, 1983 and had acted as cultural spokesperson, she represented the SPÖ in the National Council from June 1, 1983 to December 31, 1988. Zipser was also regional women chairwoman and deputy to the regional party chairman of the SPÖ Burgenland as well as the managing district party chairwoman of the SPÖ Eisenstadt and chairwoman of Volkshilfe Burgenland. In addition, Zipser founded the association “Day mothers Burgenland”, whose training plans were adopted throughout Austria for the training of day mothers.
