Annette Lareau

Annette Patricia Lareau (* 1952 ) is an American sociologist who served as the 105th president of the American Sociological Association in 2014 . She holds the Edmund J. and Louise W. Kahn Professorship in Social Sciences at the University of Pennsylvania . Her main focus is family sociology .

Lareau 1974 put her Bachelor -Examen at the University of California, Santa Cruz from, followed by 1978, the master's exam in 1984 and the promotion to Ph.D. , both at University of California, Berkeley . After working at the University of Maryland , Temple University and Southern Illinois University , she became a professor at the University of Pennsylvania in 2008.
