Annette Peulvast-Bergeal (born August 21, 1946 in Mantes-la-Ville , Yvelines department ) is a French politician of the Parti socialiste . Between 1995 and 2008 she was mayor of the city of Mantes-la-Ville and from 1997 to 2002 a member of the National Assembly for the 8th constituency of the Yvelines department.

She became known as the victim of an attack by the leader of the Front National Jean-Marie Le Pen on May 30, 1997. The latter was present to support his daughter Marie-Caroline Le Pen, who was running against Peulvast-Bergeal in the mayoral elections . Ultimately, however, Peulvast-Bergeal was re-elected. After the winner had thrown the election sash , Jean-Marie Le Pen lost his composure, pushed Peulvast-Bergeal several times and insulted her. As a punishment, the offender was deprived of his right to stand for one year.
