Annette Vogt

Annette Vogt (* 1952 in Lutherstadt Eisleben ) is a German science historian.

Life

Vogt studied mathematics and physics at the University of Leipzig . She obtained her diploma in mathematics with a thesis on functional analysis and did her doctorate on a topic in the history of mathematics. Until 1991 she worked at the Institute for Theory and History of Sciences with Hubert Laitko at the Academy of Sciences of the GDR . Between 1992 and 1994 she worked at the research center for the history of science of the Förderungsgesellschaft Wissenschaftliche Neuvorhaben mbH in Berlin .

From 1994 to 2018 (when she retired) she worked at the Max Planck Institute for the History of Science in Berlin. Her research focuses on the history of mathematics and natural sciences in Germany in the 19th and 20th centuries, as well as the history of women scientists in international comparison and with Jewish scientists.

Since 1997 she has also given regular lectures at the Humboldt University of Berlin , and since 2014 she has been an honorary professor at the Economics Faculty of the Humboldt University of Berlin.
