Agustín Peña , full name Alejandro Agustín Peña Montero , (born March 8, 1989 in Montevideo ) is a Uruguayan football player .

Career

The 1.81-meter-tall defensive player Peña is the son of José Enrique Peña and twin brother of Álvaro Peña . He was a member of the reserve (Formativas) of the Montevideo Wanderers at the beginning of his career in the 2007/08 season . From the Apertura 2008 he ran for the club's first team and completed 17 games (no goal) in the Primera División in the 2008/09 season . In the following season he ran 22 times in the top Uruguayan league and scored one goal. In June 2010 he moved to Argentina for Club Atlético Huracán . There he played 14 games in the Argentine Primera División until his last appearance on June 2, 2011 . He didn't score a goal.

In April 2012 he moved to El Tanque Sisley and played there in the 2011/12 season three top division games (no goal). From July 2012 to July 2013 another station followed in Argentina at Atlético Tucumán . The statistics show him 15 appearances (no goal) in the Primera B Nacional . In addition, he was once (no goal) in the Copa Argentina on the pitch.

In the 2013/14 season he was under contract with Liverpool Montevideo in Montevideo . He completed 26 games in the Primera División and scored twice in the opposing goal. His club relegated to the Segunda División at the end of the season . In July 2014, he joined the Portuguese club Boavista Porto , but was loaned from there to the reigning Uruguayan champions Danubio FC in September .

In total, he was used 14 times (no goal) in the Uruguayan top division and twice (no goal) in the 2015 Copa Libertadores in the 2014/15 season . In the 2015/16 season, he played 20 first division games (no goal) and one game (no goal) in the 2015 Copa Sudamericana . During the 2016 season, he played twelve other first division games (no goal).

National team

Peña took part with the Uruguayan U-20 selection at the U-20 South American Championship 2009 in Venezuela . There he played four tournament games and scored one goal.
