Salt district (unit)
The Salzviertel was a Zurich measure of the volume of salt . There is evidence of the use of the measure since 1660. Four quarters were calculated on one measure.
- 1 salt quarter = 1159 ½ Parisian cubic inches ≈ 23 liters
- 1 salt quarter = 96 cups (equivalent to 3 quads)
- Sulz (salt water) 1 salt quarter = 4 salt inches (1 Sz. = 7.3 liters)

- 1 Salzmess (Tübinger) = 1 salt slice = 5 ½ quarters
