Annette Wittkamp-Fröhling , née Anette Fröhling (born April 18, 1946 in Olfen , Westphalia) is a German sculptor of figurative realism.

Life

She was born as the daughter of the journalist Marga Fröhling and the writer Fritz Fröhling. From 1961 Wittkamp received lessons from Karl Odenbreit in Datteln and Norbert Ahlmann in Lüdinghausen . At the age of 16, she studied sculpture with Adolf Wamper at the Folkwang School in Essen , which she successfully completed in 1967. In the same year she opened her first workshop as a freelance sculptor. Wittkamp also taught art education and art history at the St. Antonius grammar school and at the private grammar school Canisianum in Lüdinghausen. In 1976 she founded her first gallery in Lüdinghausen, which still exists today, albeit in a different location. Here she exhibits her own work, as well as the pictures of her husband, the painter and poet Frantz Wittkamp .

In Lüdinghausen and the surrounding area, many bronze sculptures by Annette Wittkamp-Fröhling trace the history and life in the Münsterland, including the busts and heads on Kapitelweg in Lüdinghausen. They represent personalities who are historically connected to the city of Lüdinghausen, such as the head of Fabio Chigi , who later became Pope Alexander VII. She has lived in Lüdinghausen since 1964.
