school

The "Annie Heuser School - Free Waldorf School in Berlin Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf" is single-class and consists of twelve classes and an after-school care center for grades 1 to 6.

As usual at Waldorf schools, the main lessons for the classes take place from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. in epochs. In these epochs the basics of writing and arithmetic are combined with age-appropriate topics such as B. the story of creation, reports on skilled trades, regional studies and history lessons about other cultures.

This is followed by specialist lessons in which, for example, French and English are taught as foreign languages from the 1st grade onwards. Further specialist courses are eurythmy , gymnastics, handicrafts, handicrafts and music. Cross-class music making is maintained, such as B. in the common choir lesson and in the school orchestra. In addition, numerous students take instrumental lessons, which is possible in the rooms of the Annie Heuser School in the afternoon hours.

concept

The Annie Heuser School sees itself as a lively, modern Waldorf school for children of today. The founder of the Waldorf school movement, Rudolf Steiner , asked his educators to continually review their approach and adapt it to the challenges of their time. In the Annie Heuser School - located in the middle of the city of Berlin - different children learn from the first Waldorf school in 1919. For this reason, three central guiding stars have been developed that determine what is going on at the Annie Heuser School - in class as well as in daily interaction.

  • The social school teaches respect for fellow human beings and the environment, supports engagement in charitable projects and recognizes the uniqueness of the individual personality as the basis of the class community.
  • The healthy school supports the sensible handling of one's own health, encourages the discussion of topics such as nutrition, the environment or animal husbandry and avoids emotional stress.
  • The inner-city school supports the pupils in making use of the diverse offers of a big city and enables city children to experience close to nature through horticulture or forest internships.
