Ans van Gerwen (born January 17, 1951 in Eindhoven ) is a former Dutch gymnast . Van Gerwen was the most successful gymnast in her country in the first half of the 1970s. In the course of her career she became a four-time champion in the all-around competition , in 1972 and 1973 she also won all device finals.

She drew international attention during the 1972 Summer Olympics in Munich . After the success with the Dutch team, which reached ninth place, she fought her way to 19th place in the individual all-around competition. This made her the highest-placed participant from Western Europe.

In 1972 Van Gerwen was awarded the Pahud de Mortanges Prize , which was awarded for the first time and which honors the most remarkable achievements of a Dutch athlete at the Olympic Games. In the same year she was named Sportswoman of the Year as the first female gymnast in the Netherlands .

In 1973 she married the gymnast Cor Smulders. Together with him she opened a restaurant in Aarle-Rixtel . In 2006 the restaurant was sold and Van Gerwen married Lambert van de Velden.
