Visual education

Visual pedagogy is called an approach of concept change in the classroom , which leads from the one-sided presentation of teaching content to a more active understanding-oriented self-activity of the pupils. It is a didactic model. Historically, visual pedagogy is traced back to Pestalozzi . Many forerunner concepts of local history in the 19th century can be assigned to visual pedagogy. Illustrative teaching should evoke better imaginations, especially through pictures. In the 19th century there were different versions of the Anschauungs term such as Froebel's conception of the Tatanschauung some Herbartians (by Johann Friedrich Herbart ) kept the fairy tale again as a feature of clarity, others the use of teaching pictures. From intuition education in the 20th century, more oriented to the actions of the learner's work education as part of the progressive education and later the action orientation emerged. Even in the more recent discussion, the concept of intuition still has a high priority. It is based primarily on the concepts of Jean Piaget and Hans Aebli .
