Astrid Kaiser's work integrates two branches of research, gender research, which focuses on heterogeneity, and non-specialist didactics , which is geared towards motivated learning for all children . Since 1994 she has been developing the conceptual approach of communicative didactics to communicative, action-oriented teaching of subjects . It is characterized by a close connection between theory and practice and published a wide range of practical suggestions with a strong ecological profile, in which resource conservation is the focus. Her work is geared towards social and societal innovations and, with the model of the Caring Curriculum ( Nel Noddings ), is based on guidelines for social responsibility. A central goal of their educational work is the creation of equal opportunities . In this context there are also first name studies that she leads, the aim of which is to find out whether prejudices are associated with certain first names . After retiring, she also expanded her work to include the genre of children's books, which relate to the problems and acceptance of outsiders . Her anthropological focus has been found in scientific and didactic publications on the Minangkabau on Sumatra and the Yámana / Yágan in the south of Tierra del Fuego.
