Anne Schlueter

Anne Schlüter (born August 27, 1950 in Deindrup ) is a German educational scientist and professor for further education and women's education with the subject " adult education / educational counseling " at the University of Duisburg-Essen .

Life

Anne Schlüter studied pedagogy with a focus on adult education in Cologne in the 1970s and worked from 1979 to 1983 as a research assistant in the Collaborative Research Center 119 “Knowledge and Society in the 19th Century” at the Ruhr University in Bochum. She was a doctoral scholarship holder of the Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung and worked as a research assistant at the University Didactic Center of the University of Dortmund. She completed her doctorate in 1986 at the University of Essen. Her educational history doctoral thesis "On the history of the institutionalization of commercial vocational training for girls at the beginning of the 20th century" fills a gap in the history of education. At the University of Dortmund in 1996, with her habilitation, she was awarded the license to teach the subject of educational science / educational research. Her habilitation thesis "Educational Successes. An Analysis of Perception and Interpretation Patterns and Mechanisms for Mobility in Educational Biographies" belongs to the subject area "Social Inequality" and deals with the educational advancement of working-class and academic daughters. She worked as a research assistant in general education at the University of Hildesheim. Schlüter represented the Professorship of Vocational Education at the University of Dortmund and the Professorship for Work, Vocational and Business Education at the University of Gießen before she was appointed professor at the University of Duisburg, now the University of Duisburg-Essen, in 2001.

Until the end of 2017, Schlüter was a member of the administrative board of the German Institute for Adult Education in Bonn. From 2010 to 2017 she was the spokesperson for the network for women and gender studies in North Rhine-Westphalia and head of the network's coordination office and for many years chairwoman of the gender equality commission at the University of Duisburg-Essen. She was also a member of the advisory board of the Center for University Didactics and Development at the University of Duisburg / Essen. She is a member of the German Society for Educational Science . For several years she was on the board of the women's and gender research section in the DGfE. Schlüter is also a member of the professional association of educational scientists and of the editorial team of the journal Der pedagogische Blick . Anne Schlüter has been part of the editorial team of Gender magazine since 2012 .

For a number of years now, in addition to questions relating to educational counseling, she has been specifically concerned with the topic of mentoring, for which a number of studies have been developed. She is also the series editor for the series "Further Education and Biography" and for the series "Women's and Gender Studies in Educational Science".
