Charlotte Röhner

Charlotte Röhner (born October 15, 1948 ) is a German educator . Until 2015 she taught as a professor for pedagogy in early childhood and primary level at the Bergische Universität in Wuppertal . In 2015 she took over the position of Senior Research Professor at the University of Frankfurt.

Life

After studying to be a teacher in Giessen , she was involved in various reform processes as a primary school teacher in North Hesse. Since 1988 she has been researching the possibilities of school reform as a pedagogical assistant at the University of Kassel as part of the accompanying research of the reform school Kassel. In 1996 she did her doctorate at the University of Halle with a thesis on free texts. Since 1996 she has worked in the Department of Linguistics and Literature at the University of Paderborn . This was followed from 1999 onwards by substitute professorships at the University of Frankfurt and the Weingarten University of Education . In 2002 she completed her habilitation at the Carl von Ossietzky University of Oldenburg in the field of child research. Since 2002 she has represented the C4 professorship in Wuppertal, to which she was appointed in 2003. In 2008 the annual meeting of the AG Primary School Research of the DGfE was held in Wuppertal under her leadership .

Röhner is the author of articles in the areas of primary school education and childhood research, written language acquisition, second language acquisition and literacy, social and political learning as well as subject teaching, media, media childhood and media education, gender education and gender research as well as school development and teacher training.
