The Brandthausen residence (also spelled Brandhausen ) is located southeast of the municipality of Aldrans in the Innsbruck-Land district of Tyrol (Rinner Straße 5).

history

The Brandthausen residence is mentioned as early as 1312. In 1575 the residence is owned by the Prantl family. Maria Prantl was a lady-in-waiting of the Philippine Welser and was raised to the nobility because of her services. In 1579 there was a documentary confirmation of the freedom of a residence with the name Brandthausen. Other owners were the Messerschmid (1622) and Peterlunger (1826). The last noble owners of Brandhausen were the von Neupauer family in 1836.

The listed  residence is a two-storey, block-like building with a loft with small oval skylights and a crooked hip roof with a hollow. The core of the building dates from the 16th century. It was changed in the 19th century. The regular axis structure emphasizes the central axis. On the north side there are two multi-profiled corner oriels and an upper floor above a stone console with a wrought iron railing . The hallway on the ground floor has a stitch cap vault . Inside there are simple stucco ceilings and a room with neo-Gothic architectural painting.

A little to the side is a chapel belonging to the residence, which was built in 1842 in neo-Gothic style. The brick, single-bay building with a three-sided choir closure and turret with pointed gable helmet has a delicate mesh vault on the inside on consoles.
