The Schrattenburg residence stands free on the so-called Upper Field on the southern slope above Aldrans. The name “Schullernschlössl” goes back to Hermann von Schullern , who originally used the house as a summer villa. The striking historicist residence was built in 1908. Its monumental forms are based on the palace and castle architecture of bygone times. Its rich structure is expressed in a mighty three-storey tower in the northeast, a single-storey corner bay window on the south side, as well as risalit-like projections and further bay windows. Natural stone square at the corners. With the exception of the windows, the exterior appearance is still original; the inside of the staircase is still in its original condition. On the south side there is a Mariahilff fresco on the outside. The Schullernschlössl is a significant example of the survival of romantic or historicist forms in country house architecture of the early 20th century.
