The sacristan's house was a two-story, cube-shaped building with a tent roof and stood on the edge of the cemetery grounds. The facade was structured regularly, with a late Gothic, polychrome sandstone Madonna above the north portal. The main components were from the 15th century, the integrated business section and the living rooms on the ground floor and first floor from a late Baroque renovation phase, while minor changes were made in the late 19th century. There were several vaulted rooms in the basement, some of the medieval wall structures of a previous building are documented by building surveys, clearly layered top masonry with opus spicatum from the first half of the 13th century.

After the monument protection was restricted to two cellar wall sections, the building was torn down and a part of the urn was added to the cemetery in its place.

During the construction of a high-pressure water pipeline along the bank of the Sill to the Mühlen river power station of Innsbruck municipal operations, several body graves were cut in February 2011. A total of 13 skeletons of partly young men were uncovered in at least five graves in the special burial area. Some of the dead are likely to be fallen Bavarian soldiers who died in the course of the so-called " Boarian hype " in 1703. Both the parish registers of Matrei and salvaged remains of uniforms indicate this. Eleven of the graves were recovered, two were left in situ . The burial ground could extend further south in the narrow strip of shore, perhaps further north, but corresponding excavations were not carried out. Skeletons of elderly people were also found, some with severe signs of degeneration, which could be suicides and epidemic victims buried outside the churchyard. Deeper layers were examined, but remained empty. The rescue operations were completed on February 21.

Note: The object was already under monument protection during the emergency excavation in 2011.
