The church is first mentioned in a document in 1369. In the 15th century there seems to have been renovations, as the choir was inaugurated by Nikolaus Cusanus in 1487 . In 1722 the Gothic church was fundamentally rebuilt and expanded in the Baroque style. Like Hall in Tirol , Lans received a rich collection of relics from knight Florian von Waldauf in 1503. The church was last renovated in 2006.
