The Kalvarienberg on a steep rock high above the Ehnbachklamm was created from 1771. The “Josephine Way of the Cross” consists of seven stations (due to the reforms of Joseph II only with scenes documented in the Bible) and a dungeon chapel. The late baroque wayside shrines with plaster structure and volute gables were erected in 1797. The barrel-vaulted niches contain mosaics that were created by Anton Plattner in 1970/1971. These show the scenes Jesus is condemned to death ( ), Jesus takes up the cross ( ), Jesus falls for the first time ( ), Jesus meets his sad mother ( ), Simon of Cyrene helps Jesus carry the cross ( ), Veronica gives Jesus the handkerchief ( ) and The daughters of Jerusalem weep for Jesus ( ). The dungeon chapel as the 8th station houses a group of figures of Christ in the dungeon in the barrel-vaulted interior ( ). The 9th station is the Kreuzkapelle , the 10th is the Kalvarienbergkirche , the 11th station is the Holy Sepulcher in the basement of the church.
