Franz Xaver Kirchebner (born December 6, 1736 in Götzens ; † November 15, 1815 there ) was a Tyrolean church painter .

Life

Franz Xaver was the son of the painter Anton Kirchebner from Axams . He first learned from his father and then studied painting from 1774 to 1778 at the Vienna Academy under Josef Hauzinger , Caspar Franz Sambach  and Martin van Meytens . He then returned to Götzens and created frescoes and panel paintings for Tyrolean churches in a late baroque style with classicist  influences. He often painted together with his brother Josef . One of her works are the frescoes in the parish church of Ortisei in Val Gardena in South Tyrol .
