Josef Anton Kirchebner (born February 25, 1757 in Götzens , † January 12, 1839 in Birgitz ) was an Austrian painter .

Life

The younger son of the painter Anton Kirchebner first learned from his father and then, like his brother Franz Xaver , received further training in Vienna . He then worked as a fresco and panel painter in Birgitz and was best known for his portraits. He often painted frescoes with his brother Franz Xaver. On January 24, 1780, he married Anna Hofer in Axams, his son Felix (1785–1840) worked as a painter in Innsbruck .
