The Antas da Herdade dos Prates are three more or less well-preserved, neighboring Antas in Vimieiro near Pavia in the Évora district in the Alentejo in Portugal . Anta is the Portuguese name for around 5000 megalithic structures or dolmens that were built during the Neolithic in the west of the Iberian Peninsula by the successors of the cardial or imprint culture .

The Antas date from the Copper Age and were examined by Georg Leisner and Vera Leisner in 1959 . Originally there were six, today only three remain and two of them are quite damaged. Nearby are the Antas da Caeira and the Anta da Cré 3 . The monuments are not yet classified as cultural heritage and are therefore not protected by law.

Anta 3

The Anta collapsed. There are two large slabs that are roof-shaped against each other (possibly a bearing stone and half of the ceiling slab). The other bearing stones are broken. The corridor is not recognizable.

Anta 5

This Anta is the best preserved of the group. It consists of seven bearing stones, one of which was broken in half. The pieces were put back together. The capstone, which is usually inclined towards the corridor, but rests on the opposite side, is in situ . There are some stones in the corridor, one in situ and others nearby. Parts of the burial mound can still be seen.

Anta 6

Only three bearing stones of the anterior are preserved in situ, a fourth is broken. There are some stones nearby and one can be a bearing stone or part of the capstone. Others can be part of the aisle or other parts of the cover plate.

Location: 38 ° 51 ′ 13.7 ″  N , 7 ° 57 ′ 12.8 ″  W.
