Antenne Mainz (official spelling, own name Antenne Mainz 106.6 ) is a private local radio broadcaster in Mainz .

General

The local broadcaster, represented by the organizer Radio Mainz Live Rundfunk GmbH , successfully applied for the local VHF frequency in Mainz at 106.6 MHz, which had been used by the second nationwide VHF broadcasting chain bigFM . He prevailed against several competitors, including Radio Mainz GmbH, whose managing director Werner Horn, who publishes an advertising paper in Mainz, sued unsuccessfully against the broadcasting of the station. The program is marketed by Studio Gong .

program

Antenne Mainz 106.6 offers an accompanying program with hits from the 80s until today. The target group are radio listeners aged 14 to 59. The editorial focus is on information, service, comedy and culture, especially from the region. Talk elements are also part of the program.

The program is taken over 23 hours a day as a blanket program by the local broadcaster 97eins from Gau-Bischofsheim ( 97eins / AllAudio GmbH ), which only creates one hour a day itself. Its frequencies are assigned to the main provider, Antenne Mainz, but the broadcaster 97eins is licensed as an independent operator.

reception

Antenne Mainz can be heard on the VHF transmitter Mainz / Bonifazius-Türme (106.60 MHz, 320 W), as well as broadcasting on the radio stations of Radio 97eins, Bodenheim (97.1 MHz, 100 W) and Mommenheim (94, 1 MHz, 320 W). Both programs are fed into the regional cable networks and can be heard as a live stream on the Internet.

Since autumn 2016, Antenne Mainz has been broadcasting via DAB + on channel 11C in the Hessian private mux, which u. a. is broadcast by the Mainz-Kastel transmitter with 10 kW. The transmitter can thus be received far beyond the FM transmission area. The broadcast enables u. a. the terrestrial reception of the program in those parts of the district of Mainz-Bingen in which reception via the inefficient VHF transmitters is not possible. This concerns z. B. the cities of Ingelheim and Bingen.
