Anthony Gerrard (born February 6, 1986 in Huyton ) is an English- Irish football player. He is a cousin of Steven Gerrard .

Club career

Gerrard began his career in the youth department of Everton FC . In 2004 he played on loan at Accrington Stanley . After he had not come to the train for Everton in the Premier League , he moved in 2005, first on loan and later permanently to Walsall FC . He was a fixture in the Walsall team until 2009, when he moved to Cardiff City , the Welsh capital club. In 2010 he was loaned to Hull City and voted Player of the 2010/11 season. From 2012 he was under contract with the second division club Huddersfield Town , before joining Oldham Athletic on loan in March 2015 . That same year he left Huddersfield for good and signed a contract with Shrewsbury Town . After Gerrard terminated his contract there in January 2016, he played again for Oldham Athletic.

International career

Due to the origin of his grandparents, Gerrard is eligible to play for the Irish national football team. There he completed two games for the U-18s.
