Anthony Uruburu

Anthony Uruburu is the name of a game designer who is named as the creator of the German version of the game Sherlock Holmes Criminal-Cabinet , which was awarded Game of the Year 1985 . It is unknown whether this person actually exists or whether it is a pseudonym invented by Franckh-Kosmos .

The game Sherlock Holmes Criminal-Cabinet was originally published in 1981/82 in the United States by Sleuth Publications under the title Sherlock Holmes Consulting Detective and was developed by game authors Gary Grady , Raymond Edwards and Suzanne Goldberg . In 1984 the first German edition was published by Franckh-Kosmos in a translation and adaptation by Leonore Puschert, who stated that Anthony Uruburu was the author of the game. Anthony Uruburu is also the name of a person who appears in the game in "Case 5: The Curse of the Mummy".

According to the publisher, “someone should actually have appeared at the publisher under this name when the contract was concluded, but without materializing again for the award ceremony.” No other games or books by Anthony Uruburu are known.
