Anthony William Bulloch
Anthony William Bulloch (born August 26, 1942 in London , † May 26, 2014 in Oakland ) was a British classical scholar .
Life
He attended University College School in London and King's College (Cambridge) , where he distinguished himself as an undergraduate and graduate student in Classics and earned BA (1964), MA (1968) and Ph.D. (1971) received. He also studied at the British School at Rome and the University of Freiburg im Breisgau . He began his teaching career as a Fellow of King's College and a member of the Cambridge University Classics Faculty. In 1976 he moved to the University of California, Berkeley as a lecturer for his first year , then as an assistant professor of classics. In 1979 he was promoted to tenure and in 1986 to full professor .
His research focus is Hellenistic literature and culture, especially Callimachus .
