Antiphilos (painter)

Antiphilos ( ancient Greek Ἀντίφιλος , * in the 4th century BC ) was a Greek painter from Egypt . He lived around 330 BC. Chr., Was a contemporary of Apelles and distinguished himself in both the noble style and the rough genre image .

He is said to have painted with preference caricatures , lighting effects , scenes from everyday life , but also portraits , such as those of Alexander the Great and Philip II , and thereby demonstrated a great ease of conception.
