The antiques hall ( also called Museum Palaeotechnicum ) was a building in the classicism style of the builder Friedrich Weinbrenner in Baden-Baden .

history

The building was erected on the central market square in Baden-Baden in 1804 at the suggestion of Grand Duke Karl Friedrich . The collegiate church and the thermal springs were in the immediate vicinity .

The antiques hall served as an exhibition building and museum for the archaeological finds from Roman times , which were discovered in the urban area of ​​and around Baden-Baden. The building was built in the style of an ancient Greek temple. Due to major urban renovations, the antiques hall was demolished again in 1845. In the same place, the old steam bath was built according to plans by the architect Heinrich Hübsch , which is now used as an exhibition building for changing art exhibitions.
