Antje Hain

Antje Hain (* around 1943 in Munich ) is a German photographer who lives in Munich.

Life

Antje Hain was born as the third of five children to an artist couple in Munich-Schwabing . Her father was a portrait painter. From 1962 she trained as a photographer with Gabriele Countess von Arnim. She worked as an assistant for various fashion photographers, including Renata Ley-Riederer and Regina Relang, and soon received her first orders for the women's magazine Brigitte . In 1966 she took part in the master class at the State School for Photography under the presence of Hanna Seewald in Munich. Hain has been working as a freelance beauty and fashion photographer for international publishers since 1967 .

Between 1967 and 1970, Hain undertook several photo trips to African and Asian countries and from 1974 to 1980 had an employment contract as a theater photographer at the East Berlin Volksbühne under the direction of Benno Besson , Bertolt Brecht's assistant .

Hain sometimes uses extremely large stage sets in her photographs. In her portraits she mainly shows women.
