Antoine-François Brisson

Antoine-François Brisson (born October 25, 1728 in Paris , † 1796 Lyon ) was a French lawyer and encyclopedist of the 18th century.

He was Inspector of Commerce and Manufacturers , Inspecteur du commerce et des manufactures de la généralité de Lyon in Lyon . Brisson was a member of the Academy of Lyon, Académie des sciences, belles-lettres et arts de Lyon and published 23 manuscripts on various subjects at the Académie de Villefranche , the Société économique de Berne and for the Sociétés d'agriculture de Beauvais et de Lyon . He had a son, Barnabé Brisson (1777-1828).

He wrote the article on canvas manufacture, toilerie for the Encyclopédie by Denis Diderot and Jean-Baptiste le Rond d'Alembert .
