Antoine Vollon
Antoine Vollon (born April 20, 1833 in Lyon , † August 27, 1900 in Paris ) was a French painter . Vollon received his first artistic lessons at the École nationale des beaux-arts Lyon . He then went to Paris, where he became a student of Augustin Théodule Ribot .
In 1864 Vollon made his debut with a still life on the occasion of the major exhibition in the Paris Salon . In his early work, Vollon thematized flower pieces, kitchen interiors or sea fish, later he set a focus with landscapes. The use of color accents and the depiction of moods through variations of light and shadow are characteristic of Vollon's work.
The painter Antoine Vollon died on August 27, 1900 in Paris at the age of 66.
