Antonín Borovička

Antonín Borovička (born November 4, 1895 in Davle ; † December 3, 1968 there ) was a Czech composer.

Life

Antonín Borovička first learned from his father the profession of potter . At the same time he was taught tenor horn and violin by the village music director. At the age of 14 Borovička was able to record his first successes as a violinist in the “Vild's” chapel. At the age of 16 he had mastered 5 instruments. After the First World War , Antonín Borovička founded his first orchestra as a war invalid (leg amputation). The chapel was called Die Moldauer and was made up of strings and winds, which he directed for 42 years. Borovička's first polka Nejhezčí koutek was published in 1923 by the Prague Grando Publishing House. This polka later became world famous in Germany through Ernst Mosch and his original Egerland musicians under the name spoon polka .
