Anton Busch (* July 11, 1763 ; † July 16, 1836 ) was a lay judge, councilor, town councilor and mayor of Limburg an der Lahn .

Busch was the son of the baker Anton Busch († 1818), who in 1769 took over the inn " Zum Roten Ochsen " in the Frankfurt suburb .

In 1797, as mayor, Busch acquired the property at Bergstrasse 6 north of Bischofsplatz in Limburg, which had been vacant since 1660, and had a two-storey house built there after the neighboring house was demolished, which is considered to be an example of the turn from late baroque to classicism .

In 1800, Busch, as aldermen and councilor, ensured that his children were allowed to receive private lessons. While the eldest son became a businessman, the second studied in Würzburg and in 1845 became a Privy Councilor in Wiesbaden .

After his father's death in 1818, Busch had his inn on Frankfurter Strasse converted into a rental apartment. The father's tombstone, a high stone cross, is one of the most distinctive tombstones on Limburg Cathedral Cemetery .

In 1827 Busch took over the postal administration in Limburg from Joseph Trombetta, which he handed over to his youngest son and doctorate doctor Johann Anton Busch in 1833 . In the previous year, together with his brother Karl Anton Busch, he had donated the former Bethlehem monastery to the city as a nursing home, and in 1850 Johann Anton played a key role in the founding of the St. Vincenz Hospital .

The life and work of the Busch family is considered to be an example of the "development towards a modern economic, educational and civil servant bourgeoisie" that took place from 1750 to 1850.
